The Dragonship Incandescent Rebirth is ancient, even by Eldar standards; It predates the Fall and the birth of Slaanesh. Back then, it was a noble lords pleasure ship, and was named Sweet Whispers. What exactly happened on the ship during the fall will probbaly never be known, but when the craft reappeared from the warp, several millenia later, it was completely abandoned.

It was found drifting in space, in orbit over what was once a Maiden World, by a roving scout from the Phoenix Craftworld looking for a good colony site.

The find was initially greeted with suspicion, but several Wraithseers have all examined the ship's core and pronounced it free of taint; It was subsequently refitted with weapons batteries and a complement of smallcraft and has since served with distinction in the craftworld standing fleet. Recurring rumors amongst its crew of ghosts haunting it corridors are dismissed as mere superstition by the craftworld seers...

Glory for the Emperor!... eller ...vent....

Spirit Host

The greatest fallen heroes of craftworld Phoenix march to war again, encased in the form of Wraithlords

With the reascendance and slow population growth over the last few hundred years, Craftworld Phoenix and its vassal colonies experienced a growth in the number of Eldar that chose to follow an Aspect path other than that of the Fire Dragon, the Purifier of the sullied lands.

The most popular of the resurgent Paths was that of the Swooping Hawk, embodying flight, freedom and mastery of the skies, all tenets close to the collective soul of the Phoenix eldar.

Being children of the Phoenix, a certain deviation from the olden Path did manifest in the Exarchs of these new shrines. They painted their armour in colours of flame, and their followers followed suit, calling themselves the Firewings.

The Firewings are still few in number, and only a single host has been deemed combat ready; The old Fire Dragon Exarchs sagely predict that all this gallivanting about in the sky is a youthful phase, that the Firewings will grow out of it, and return to serious warfighting with real fire soon enough.

The Rangers of Craftworld Phoenix has a singular task: Travel through webway or realspace to all the lost Maiden worlds, and determine their suitability for re-colonization.  If the world is suitable, but taken by upstart aliens, they will secure or bring in the webway portals that will allow the War Host to strike and burn out the infestation.

A squadron of ancient Walkers, recovered from storage on a re-populated Maiden World by colonists off Craftworld Phoenix. They are refitted with weaponry for the local milita, and while they lack the sophisticated forcefields of newer walkers, the old wraithbone shells afford the pilots the same level of protection.

Seven millenia after the Fall, the recolonization carried out by Craftworld Phoenix had borne fruit, to the extent that the planetbound populations were starting to question the fiery philosophies of the Craftworld Aspects. On some planets, young Eldar heading out on the Aspect paths started to once again choose the ancient paths of the Dire Avenger and the Striking Scorpion, some even embracing the path of the Dark Reaper.

While there was no denying their martial prowess, the traditional Aspect hosts were viewed with mild disdain by the Craftworld Autarchs, who still favored the path of the Fire Dragon above all others; However, the Phoenix Seers assured them that this was a natural stage, and that all was proceeding as foreseen.
