Something black in the road, something that wasn't a tree. Something big and black and ropy, just squatting there, waiting, with ropy arms squirming and reaching... It came crawling up the hillside... and it was the black thing of my dreams - that black, ropy, slime jelly tree-thing out of the woods. It crawled up and it flowed up on its hoofs and mouths and snaky arms.

Den er fra RAFM, de har en rigtig fin gammel linie af Cthulhu-rædsler. De kan stadig fås rundt omkring, men jeg ville ønske de fortsatte med at lave flere nye af dem.

Out of what crypt they crawl, I cannot tell,

Over the jagged peaks of Thok they sweep,
Heedless of all the cries I try to make,
And down the nether pits to that foul lake
Where the puffed shoggoths splash in doubtful sleep.
But oh! If only they would make some sound,
Or wear a face where faces should be found!

Enormous iridescent cones, about ten feet high and ten feet wide at the base, and made up of some ridgy, scaly, semi-elastic matter. From their apexes projected four flexible cylindrical members, each a foot thick, and of a ridgy substance like that of the cones themselves. These members were sometimes contracted almost to nothing and sometimes extended to any distance up to about ten feet. Terminating two of them were enormous claws or nippers. At the end of a third were four red trumpetlike appendages. The fourth terminated in an irregular yellowish globe some two feet in diameter and having three great eyes ranged along its central circumference... Surrounding this head were four slender grey stalks bearing flowerlike appendages, whilst from its nether side dangled eight greenish antennae or tentacles. The great base of the central cone was ringed with a rubbery grey substance which moved the whole entity through expansion and contraction.

Ja, det gik jo meget godt, altså lige indtil påskens satanistcamping spændte ben for produktiviteten. Men op på shantakken igen med et par småting, det kan man lige overskue for at få glid i sagerne:

Jeg har en Tindalusisk hund mere, men jeg kan ikke helt finde ud af om den skal være i samme farve eller om den skal være i nogle mere rødlillaagtige farver jeg har eksperimenteret lidt med. Hmm.

It was of no use to demonstrate to such opponents that the Vermont myths differed but little in essence from those universal legends of natural personification which filled the ancient world with fauns and dryads and satyrs, suggested the kallikanzarai of modern Greece, and gave to wild Wales and Ireland their dark hints of strange, small, and terrible hidden races of troglodytes and burrowers.
