Shamrock Island - revisited

Jeg genstarter en gammel Warhammer Fantasy kampagne fra 2018. Denne gang som en sandkasse, som jeg kører som gamemaster. Reglerne bliver Warhammer Renaissance.   
Første kamp er planlagt til lørdag 19.11-22, hvor Johannes spiller Empire og jeg High Elves.  :D

Forhistorie:
I tidernes morgen da dragerne på himlen skyggede for solen og jorden gungrede af dragon ogres lustige lunten, boede der på Shamrock Island 2 Old Ones, som hed Guinness og Murphy.
De var så glade for hinanden at de med tiden fik de 15 børn, som i dag kun er kendt som The
Leprechauns. Da de 2 Old Ones forlod denne verden fik hver Leprechaun 1/15 del af Shamrock Island, som deres personlige len. Øen selv var gemt i en magisk tåge, så ondsindende kaoskræfter ikke kunne nå den. Og således gik årtusinder og alt var såre godt.
Men intet varer evigt, heller ikke magi. De før så frodige kløvermarker begyndte at visne i sol og rådne i regnvejr, og The Leprechauns var fortvivlede.
Men så en mørk nat ved midvinter lagde et skib til ved øen og to besynderlige skikkelser gik i land. De præsenterede sig som Vogel & Blutkopf og lignede godt nok nogle af de typer som deres forældre havde advaret dem imod, men i deres desperation bød The Leprechauns dem ind til et krus øl.
Vogel & Blutkopf talte længe og overbevisende om nødvendigheden af FORANDRING og om dødeliges BLODS essentielle egenskaber som gødning af kløvermarker, og inden natten var omme havde Shamrocks nisser ophævet magien omkring den grønne ø. Nu var øen synlig for hele verden og således kom krigen til Shamrock Island.


Denne åbne Warhammer kampagne foregår på øen Shamrock vest for Albion.



Kampagnen handler selvfølgelig om at erobre så mange af Shamrocks 15 counties (Len) som muligt. Men kampagnen er åben og har heller ikke nogen egentlig afslutning.

Nissegaver:
Lenets magiske nisse, The Leprechaun, byder spiller velkommen med et Magic Item som han synes spilleren har fortjent. Men nissen indskærper at denne genstand kun må bruges til at forsvare det pågældende len, og ikke tages med til erobringstogter i de andre len. (herefter kaldt Lens-Item)
Spilleren ruller på følgende tabel for at finde sit magic item.




Der er nogle arcane items, som skal oversættes Warhammer Renaissance kortmagi, men det tager jeg som det kommer.

Dette Item er gratis at bruge i sin hærliste, men fylder alligevel af en karakters magic item allowance. Championlevel figurer må ikke bruge lens-items.
Har man en Lord-karakter i sin hær, skal denne bære det Len-Item.
En undtagelse er magiske bannere, som kan bæres af en BSB eller en enhed som må bruge magiske bannere.

Erobringskrig på Shamrock Island
:I starten af kampagnen er der mange len som der ikke gjort krav på endnu. For at indtage et herreløst len, skal man vinde en warhammerkamp mod en anden spiller. Vinder man er lenet dit og den lokale Leprechaun giver dig endnu et Lens-Item, som du ruller på tabellen. I disse kampe kan spilleren ikke medbringe nogle Lens-Items. Hvis der er flere len mellem modspillerne, antages det at slaget udkæmpes midtvejs mellem de 2 riger. Vinderen erobrer da lenet tættest på sit rige, og modtager endnu et Len-Item af den lokale Leprechaun. Rul tabellen.

Grænser 2 riger op mod hinanden rulles der 1 d6 for initiativ. Spilleren med det højeste resultat invaderer modspillerens len. Terningerullet kan manipuleres med Krukker af Guld.
Forsvareren kan bruge sit len-item i sin hær. Vinder angriberen erobrer han det pågældende len. En draw er ikke nok. Et nyt len-item rulles. Angriberen kan vælge at prøve at snyde en Leprechaun og bruge en Len-Item, men inden kampen ruller angriberen en terning.
På 5+ opdager Leprechaun misgerningen og tager det pågældende Len-item. Det er nu ude af kampagnen.

Krukker af Guld
Forsvarer man med held sit len mod invasion belønnes man af en tilfreds Leprechaun med en Krukke af Guld. Guldkrukker fungerer som økonomi i kampagnen.
En krukke guld kan bruges på 3 måder:
1) Man bygger en borg på et len. En borg er rar at have hvis lenet bliver invaderet. Selvom man taber warhammerkampen, kan man se om sin borg kan udholde en belejring.
Forsvaren ruller en d6. På 5+ holder man stand og man får lov til at beholde lenet. Dette udløser dog ikke nogle guldkrukker, da Leprechaunen ikke er imponeret.
2) Man kan bruge en krukke af guld til at øge chancen for at kunne invadere sin modspiller.
Når man ruller for initiativ får man 2+ på sit terninge rul for hver krukke guld man smider i puljen. Bliver rullet en draw, er guldet dog brugt og omrullet bliver uden modifieres.
3) Man kan bede den lokale Leprechaun om et andet magisk len-item til gengæld for en krukke guld. DVS man får et nyt rul på skemaet. Man skal tage det nye item også selv om man syntes det er dårlige end det gamle.


Angreb fra søsiden: Len ved kysten kan altid angribes. Det er dog langsomt og besværligt at landsætte en hær. Derfor får forsvareren altid lov til at vælge bordhalvdel og 1. tur hvis ønskes.

Imperiet smadrer elvisk ekspeditionsstyrke midt på øen!

Med en overvældende udvisning af magisk magt decimerende Johannes is- og lys troldmænd på 2 og 3. level højelverne.


Først blev Dragon Princes stoppet af en snestorm-spell, derefter halveret af Dwellers Below, chariot´en havde gummihjul og blev hugges ned af flagelanter.



ElverAmberMagen Jadar chargede i beastform på sin enhjørning spearmenregimentet, men blev dispellet, enhjørningen døde. Jadar kæmpede videre i 2 runder og klarede begge breaktest, men forgæves.






Det store seaguardregiment på bakken med Moonbow-hero blev autokilled af en ismagi-kombi af SNOW BLIZZARD og HAWKS OF MISKA, hvor seaguard missede deres leadershiptest og forsvandt i snestormen.
Klar sejr til Imperiet som indtager området G2 med HEX SCROLL som lens-item.
Elverne hænger stadig på nordvestkysten ved B2 med HOERFROST BANNER, men er ikke rigtigt kommet ind i kampen om SHAMROCK ISLAND!

Jeg har leget lidt med AI billedgenerering og lavet et billede at Elvermageren Jadar der charger frem mod Imperiet lige inden hans Wussans Wild Form bliver dispellet. Som man kan se bliver hans enhjøring også påvirket af formularen.

Kong Kalorius d. 1 af Kalheim stod med en krus lunkent øl i hånden og så ud over havet fra sit vindue. Snart skulle forstærkninger fra hovedlandet ankomme med jernskib til hans felttog mod orkerne i Sydbjergene.
Men runetiden nærmede sig og han var blot en fattig dværgekonge som næppe havde råd til runegaver til alle disse tapre krigere. Som 3. søn af Maz Skarn den Nærige - den navnkundige brygger, skattejagter og selfmade dværgekonge - var hans egne midler yderst begrænsede.
Men det var der råd for tænkte Kalorius mens han tømte det sidste af Ølla Ølbarms nærende bryg. Enten erobrer vi et len mere og så bliver der muligt at fejre dagen med manér, eller også falder der så mange stolte krigere at han nok skulle finde nogle runegaver til resten.
Han udstødte et tilfreds ræb, da han opdagede en sort røgsøjle i horisonten. Jernskibet var på vej!

Gotrek is a Daemon Slayer. Felix is a human (and so does not hate Orcs & Goblins). Gotrek and Felix must stay together throughout the battle. They may join any regiment. As long as Gotrek is alive, both models benefit from Gotrek's Doom (a 4+ ward save and 4+ natural dispel).
Gotrek carries Gotrek's Axe (Always wounds on 2+. No armour save. 1 wound = 1D3 wounds (1D6 against Dragons and Daemons)., and Felix carries a Blade of Leaping Bronze (+2 attacks).

Scenariet var "Take the Centre" og det galt for dværgene om at komme at komme i nærkamp inden de blev fuldstændigt decimerede af orkernes magtfulde magi og skydning.
Jeg havde desværre glemt min battlemat, så underlaget blev en tilfældig voksdug. :-S




Hærene nærmer sig hinanden. der falder slayers and longbeards til skydning og magi. Flamecannon bliver holdt fast af Morks wants Ya! Uden for billedet får det store wolf rider-regiment `Ere we go på deres waagh-test og er helt nede ved dværgenes crossbows og botltthrower. De charger botltthroweren i tur 2.


Shortbeards flygter fra en ogre-charge of lander bag slayers. Ulverytterne kører igennem boltthroweren og lander udenfor kanten.



Kong Kalorius m. longbeards charger ogres, dræber et par stykker og breaker resten. Derefter overrunner de ind i den ene giant!
Johannes charger slayerregimentet med Gotrek & Felix med Black Orcs i siden og den anden giant og ikke mindst hans Black Orc Bigboss m. Night Goblins i front.
Gotrek udfordrer Black Orc generalen som kommer med 10 attacks fra Battle Axe of the Last Waaagh. Gotrek får 4 wounds, wardsaver 2 og kører derefter fuldstændig orken gennem pålægsmaskinen og giver ham max overkill + det løse. ;)
Der ryger en del trollslayers, bla 6 til kæmpens jump up & down. Slayeren Walter giver kæmpen et wound tilbage.


Kampen sluttede i runde 5 Longbeards og slayers stod i midten og scorede objektivet. Kongen og Gotrek fældede hver deres kæmpe. Shamanen fik Night Goblins i sikkerhed med Hand of Gork, mens Black Orcs breakede.
Væk for centret nakkede Wolf Riders Dwarf Crossbows, mens Flame Cannon hele tiden blev holdt i limbo af Morks wants Ya.





Orcs & Goblins:  536 point
Dwarfs:         1786 point

Dværgene indtager D1 og modtager som Lens-Item Talisman of Preservation, som giver 4+ ward save.

NYT NYT!

Lizardmen har indtaget flodudmundingen nord for Imperiets områder. Den lokale leprechaun har skænket dem et Stalwart Standard, som gør en enhed stubborn.

En Lizardmen hær er allerede draget mod nord for at indtage D3.
Men dette county har højelverne allerede kig på og de har sendt en forsvarsstyrke ned for at møde øglerne!

The Swordmasters on the left kill most of the Kroxigors. The Silver Helms feel brave and charge the Saurus regiment on the right corner hill.

The Silver Helm Champion managed to slay the Saurus Champion and the Lizardmen gave ground up the hill.




One group of swordmasters was beaten by the temple guards. The Swordmaster Champion was killed by in a duel. They broke, but ran from the temple guards. Elven luck!


The other group of swordmasters on the left side of the lake charged the kroxigors, but one of the nimble elves tripped over a water lily and promptly drowned!
But the kroxigors got beaten og broken and was swiftly run down


Turn 3
The swordmasters move from the left flank along the lake to come to the aid of their brothers and fall the temple guard in the back.
The eagles fly behind and try to reach Luther's Slann. The Swordmasters to the right rally and are joined by their general the 4th level archmage and Warden of Saphery Loremaster Flash. The Ellyrian Reavers og Seaguard pepper the Temple Guard with arrows and a few goes down.



The Temple Guard charge the Swordmasters. But now they got 5+ ward save from Shield of Saphery. The Temple Guard Champion, who had already eaten an elf, challenged General Flash to a duel and there he showed that his greatsword was not just for show.





The Slann fly in relative safety behind the Silver Helms. The eagles come uncomfortably close.


The Saurus forces the Silver Helms to give ground off the hill in a magical incensed fury.


Turn 4
The second group of Swordmasters charge the Temple Guard from behind as the Ellyrian Reavers come in to flank them.


The 2 eagles finally come into battle and tear and tear Saurus apart with their beaks and claws.
The temple guard dies but does not surrender. The Saurus regiment falls back in good order, hotly pursued by Silver helms and eagles.


The battle is over!

The dense fog hung thick over Shamrock Island, its misty tendrils weaving through the ancient trees and rocky cliffs that lined its rugged shores.
On the central east coast of the island, the remnants of battle lay strewn across the sandy beaches, a testament to the fierce clash between the Slann Priest of the Lizardmen and the High Elves who had sought to thwart his advance. Though the High Elves had emerged victorious, their triumph was short-lived, for now the Lizardmen looked to expand their dominion further inland, upriver into the heart of Shamrock Island.

But standing in their path was a new challenger, one whose ambitions rivaled even those of the ancient reptilian race. From the south of the island, where the Empire had established its colonies, marched forth an imperial army, its ranks brimming with soldiers clad in gleaming armor and wielding weapons forged in the fires of war.
Driven by the desire to claim the fertile lands of the central island for themselves, the Empire's forces marched with grim determination, their banners fluttering defiantly in the breeze. For them, this was not just a battle for territory, but a struggle for supremacy in a land teeming with mystical energies and ancient powers.
As the fog thickened and the drums of war echoed across the island, the stage was set for a conflict of epic proportions. Amidst the swirling mists and treacherous terrain of Shamrock Island, the Lizardmen and the Empire would clash in a struggle that would shape the destiny of the land itself, and determine who would emerge victorious in the battle for dominance amidst the swirling mists of war.

As the misty hills of Shamrock Island loomed ahead, Günther, Bruno, Hansi, Anton, Karl-Heinz, and Dietrich rode north with the Empire army, their hearts pounding with excitement and anticipation. They were young pistoliers, eager for glory and adventure, convinced they could turn the tide of battle single-handedly.

"Ve'll show dose Lizardmen vat true courage is made of!" Günther declared, his voice filled vith confidence.

Bruno grinned, adjusting his hat. "Ja, dey von't know vat hit 'em ven ve're through vith 'em!"

But as they journeyed deeper into the island's rolling hills and mist-shrouded meadows, Hansi's keen eyes caught sight of something peculiar among the grazing sheep—a fleeting glimpse of what he thought was a leprechaun.

"Did you see dat?" he exclaimed, pointing excitedly.

But before the others could respond, a sudden barrage of javelins came hurtling towards them from the dense fog, launched by the cunning Skinks of the Lizardmen. The young pistoliers barely had time to react, their horses rearing in surprise as the projectiles whizzed past.

"Dey're hier" Anton shouted, his hand instinctively reaching for his pistol.

Karl-Heinz cursed, his grip tightening on his reins. "Ve can't let them catch us off guard!"

Dietrich's eyes narrowed, his senses sharpening as he scanned the mist for any sign of their elusive foes. "Stay together! Ve'll teach dese scaled teufels a lesson dey von't soon forget!"
With renewed determination, the young empire pistoliers spurred their steeds forward, their pistols blazing as they charged into the heart of battle. But little did they know, the true test of their courage and valor lay ahead, as they faced the full might of the Lizardmen army amidst the foggy depths of Shamrock Island.

2. Warhammer the Old World  game against Luthers Lizardmen. This time i`m playing Empire.

TURN 1.

Lizardmen starts..



The Lizards advances..


And getting closer to the brave pistoliers on the right flank.


On the left flank the other Cold One unit sprinting towards the Empire cannon battery. But it´s protected by the  Empire general on his mighty griffon.


EMPIRE turn 1

The Skink mage priest on the stegadon  has cast Monsoon on the right flank:
Without warning, an eight-winded storm breaks about the
foe. Torrential rain drenches weapons and armour, loosening
bowstrings and soaking black powder.

Type: Magical Vortex
Casting Value: 8+
Range: 15"
Effect: Remains in play. Place a large (5") blast template
so that its central hole is within 12" of the caster. Whilst in
play, the template is treated as dangerous terrain over which
no line of sight can be drawn. The template moves D6" in
a random direction during every Start of Turn sub-phase.
Any enemy unit the moving template touches or moves
over becomes 'drenched' for the remainder of the game.
A drenched unit suffers a -1 To Hit modifier during the
Shooting phase. A drenched model whose troop type is 'war
machine' must roll a D6 before shooting. On a roll of 1, the
model fails to shoot this turn.

Günther, Bruno, Hansi, Anton, Karl-Heinz, and Dietrich shoot their pistols at the lizard riders, dropping one.


The Empire general bravely charges the Saurus riders


The 2 great cannons shoots at scar veteran on carnosaur and
the first rolls a 1 to wound!


But the next?

Also a 1 !! The imperial gunpowder must have gone bad in the humid Shamrock air!


Round 2 LIZARDMEN




Right flank: The Cold one riders charge the pistoliers, who bravely flees!




Left center: The Scar Veteran charges the Inner Circle Knights, who to his surprice´counter charges.


2 wounds on each side. The Knights wins by the banner and the Scar Veteran breaks and flee, but the knights was stopped by the Jungle Swarms!


The brave young pistoliers decies to be the first at the pub back home. And the handgunners the second!


Left Flank. The empire general and griffon kills the cold one riders.


The bretonnian looking sorceress walks towards the spearmen.


Catastrophe! Hit by both Monsoon og Plague of Rust is the knight regiment wiped out by snake bites!


TURN 3


The general charges the scar veteran but fails to wound. The vetaran hits harder back, and the empire general is down to 1 wound,  and falls back (in good order)!






The empire general dies! The Scar Veteran is down to 1 wound.




One of the empire cannon misfires (again!), but the other finally manages to kill the scar veteran.


The spearmen is fighting jungle swarms, while cold one riders is charging their flank.




CARNAGE!


Meanwhile is one of the cannon crew charged by jungle swarms!


The spearmen breaks and is caught by the cold one riders.


We stopped here as it was getting late, and it looks like a clear win to the lizardmen. :-)

Breaking News: Battle on the North Coast of Shamrock Island

A fierce battle has taken place on the north coast of the misty Shamrock Island. The Lizardmen, who recently triumphed over The Imperial Expedition Corps, attempted to divide the island in half. However, they were decisively defeated by the Throng of Dwarf King Kalorius in a hard-fought infantry battle.

In the aftermath, the Dwarfs have expanded their realm in the north and have been granted a special "lucky magic armour" by the local Leprechaun.
