Message from Interrogator Ilsar Zen:
Hail Lord Dragomir. While you have been engineering the defense of the Jovian system I have completed my task in the K'torn system.
This message includes my full repport with all the picts I managed to salvage from the damaged vehicles of the conflict and were able to catch from orbit.
I must comment on Brother-Librarian Astela N'kor of the Knights. His advice and combat ability was essential to our succes here.

++Report: Battle for K'torn III++
Name: K'torn, K'torn sector
Segmentum: Segmentum Obscuris
note: K'torn is a small system of only three planets, all which have not been imperial homes for millenia
Deployed forces: Grey Knights, no support from Imperial Guard or other non-Astartes personel [per the request of Astela N'kor]
Composition of deployed forces:

Brother-Librarian Astela N'kor

Vindicare Assassin Marticore Verlance, Second Class Assassin

Terminator Squad Sentio [To Judge]

Strike Squad Veritas [Truth]

Strike Squad Fedelis [Faithful; Loyal]

Intercepter Squad Validus [Strong; Mighty]

Brother-Dreadknight Exertus [Tested; Veteran]

Land Raider Virtus [Valor; Excellence; Courage; Character; Worth]

Enemy forces: Chaos Space Marines; Nurgle followers with support from the World Eaters Legion [suspicion]
Enemy forces composition:

A Nurgle Deamon, suspected to be a Prince of Chaos

Terminators bearing the mark of the Plagued One.

What appeared to be two independent squads of Plague Marines [suspicion: Death Guard legion]

A squad of beserker Astartes [suspicion: World Eater legion] lead by what appeared to be a crazed Nurgle champion [unit captured post-mortis; extensive research has commenced; No results]

An enraged Defiler engine, also bearing the stench of Nurgle

A Dreadnought carrying what appeared to be a burning flail of grotesque proportions [weapon pattern: Unknown; Suspicion: Corrupted STC]

A Land Raider carrying dead bodies in bones that appeared to grow from the very Cheramite

Two heavily mutated terminators, deploying lascannons and plasma cannons in force [technology: Unknown]

Chapter one: The battle unfolds itself.
The Chaos Forces were well entrenched around the three nodes of activation that were suspected to allow a portal to the warp, thus allowing daemons to walk freely and unhindered into our world. They could not be allowed to hold the majority of these nodes if the sector were to be preserved and the efforts of Imperial forces in the Jovian System were to be preserved. Mission objective was clear: Capture the nodes, hinder the vile forces from doing the same.

The Grey Knights entered the battlefield where the forces of chaos were well entrenched, deploying all might to push through the chaos lines and capture the nodes in the middle of the field, behind the Chaos Astartes and the node hid between the silos to the left [reference: See pict]

Chapter Two: The fall of the Knights
The Grey Knights, unprepared for the Corrupted Astartes preperation, entered the battlefield without the full overview of the battle or what they were facing. This was deemed acceptable consequencing of this final assault by Astela N'kor and thus the Grey Knight took the bulk of the attack head on. I was prepared for my ship to commence evasive action as this point, for the Grey Knights felt the might of Chaos so keenly that it seemed clear that they could not even reach the main bulk of the Chaos Forces.

This is a pict of the elite Grey Knight Terminators, designated to throw the Traitor Astartes off feet with their speed and the psychical might of Astela himself.

This pict followed a heavy bombartment from plasma cannons comming from the highly corrupted chaos terminators with an inherit ability to deploy long range fire. It was taken by a Servo Skull capturing the only other possible threat to the mighty warriors in Tactical Dreadnought Armor

The result of the plasma deployed by the Nurgle-Corrupted Astartes is picted below

The remaining terminator was so devastated by the destruction wrought by the Chaos Forces to not only the veterans of the Grey Knights, in spite of their heavy cover and almost impenetratable armor. As a result he grapped hold of Astela N'kor and withdrew from the battlefield with all haste...

The malicious marines are captured on a pict soon after, notice the expression of utmost carelessness in the stance of those who have just bested the best warriors the Imperium has to offer

Though the screaming defiler had been delt with by Strike Squad psycannons, a corrupted Land Raider had moved up to take its place. A major threat to the Grey Knight forces lacking the deadly melta that is usually deployed against a tank of that caliber. However, it was not a threat that Brother-Dreadknight Exertus were not willing to face. With his mighty dreadknight armor it seemed more than possible that he could crack open the  bulk of the Land Raider.
As he calls upon the benediction and strength of the Emperor through the inherit powers of all Grey Knights his entire armor starts shaking and his head explodes in a mass of gore that leaves the mighy construction motionless on the field. The last pict of brother-Exertus is this.

Chapter three: The tables turn
Horrified by the destruction wrought by the Chaos Forces the Grey Knight vox is alive with suggestions of tactical retreat. Before the descision, with Astela taken out of the fight, three Grey Knights turn to face the horror of Nightmares that no man, Astartes or not, should ever have to face. A thing of unimaginable horror and might, someone who have dedicated themselves to Chaos in a cause that turns most into warped chaos spawn, only that this... This thing before them were no such thing. The sky cracked open as this living blasphemy entered the field, its bulk dominating the landscape as it towered above those before them. With a mirthless breath it assaulted the three entreched Grey Knights and I remember whispering, without breath left in my lungs: "all is lost..."

But such do the tide turn. The Justicar of Squad Vertitas swings his mighty daemonhammer as a brother blocks a fatal blow with his body, as his scream mixes with the thundering strike of a Daemon Hunter meeting the very corruption it was created and blessed to face the Daemon lets out an unnatural shreik that shook the ground and broke reality as it fell, nothing but the empty cloth hitting the ground as the dust clears.

At the same time Virtus drives forward with determineted intent. Though the tracks of this venerable machine gets stuck in the ruines shaked up through the death of the Daemon Prince. The servitor of the right lascannon sponson was later confirmed  to be crushed as the Land Raider came to a violent halt.
In spite of this, as this pict proves, the right lascannon turned towards the heresy of the corrupted Land Raider, an anthema to all that Virtus is and stands for and, defying all traditional logic, fired its weapon.

The explosion was devastating. The Lascannon hit the target with a knowledge of its opponents weak spots that could only be possessed through years of intesive study or produced by the very spirit of a twin of the twisted Land Raider. Whatever the explanation, it became a defining moment on the course of the battle and possibly in the history of the system and the futures conclusion of the Jovian Cataclysm.

One option remained, the Terminaturs, marked by sickness, would have to be stopped. Through the disruptive psychical might of what was left from squad Veritas and Squad Fedelis and perhaps by the grace of the Emperor, the combi-meltas the Terminators carried all missed its target at point blank range, which lead to the only possible outcome: A violent melee.

Chapter Four: Strength wears thin
With their strength spend and the foul blessings of Chaos does the Grey Knight efforts fail... Unable to push the relentless terminators back, the Knights resort to tactical withdrawal, only two man of squad Fedelis and three from squad Veritas remaining. Though destruction of the chaos forces was vast, so was the wounds of the Ordo Militant. Their strength spend, squad Veritas soon found a large squad of beserker Astartes approaching them from behind, their blades bloody from the slaughter of Grey Knights, their hunger for blood unsated still... This seemed the end of all things...

Chapter Five: For the Emperor!!

Finding a hidden strength, the Grey Knights, Ordo Militant of the Ordo Mallaus, take the assault from the most psychotic and skilled melee fighters a man can fear to face head on. They relent not for a moment and as the last of the Beserkers fall to the ground with a roar only Justicar Ataris remains standing. Without hesitation he runs for the node. He knows that the chaos forces has nothing left, yet the entire outcome of this conflict depends on his effort.
Reaper Autocannons roar from the remaining chaos terminators, sending rubble and dust in all directions. The Chaos forces withdrew slowly from the field and as the rouble cleared stood a proud Justicar in the shade of the destruction, three deep marks in his armor: A combi-bolter round and two autocannon shots. His survival owed to the Emperor himself, he saved the day and brought a victory brought from the blood of the Righteous to the Imperium.

This concludes my repport. The victory was not without its cost and it will take years to rebuild what was lost. But I have done my duty and as the First Book of Indoctrinations state clearly:
It is better to die in vain than to live an abomination.
The zealous martyr is praised for his valour: the craven and the unready are justly abhorred.

Total teknisk med effekter og det hele. Meget fornemt!

Troels S
